The one pantomime announced in Lewes district this Christmas is Peacehaven Players’ Beauty and the Beast, at Community House in Peacehaven from Thursday 3 to Saturday 5 December 2026. Lewes itself has no pantomime: its Christmas show is A Christmas Carol at Lewes Little Theatre, from Saturday 5 to Saturday 12 December.

Beauty and the Beast, Peacehaven

Peacehaven Players are an amateur company that has been performing in Peacehaven since 1998 and stages a pantomime every December. This year’s is Beauty and the Beast by Tom Whalley, with Belle, her father, her friends Brie and Dame Bonnie Baguette, and the Beast’s enchanted household.

All four are at Community House, Peacehaven, with theatre seating. The Players’ website lists three ways to buy:

  • Online through the links on peacehavenplayers.co.uk.
  • In person at the Peacehaven Information Office in the Meridian Centre, or at Telscombe Civic Centre on Central Avenue. There is a 50p booking fee per ticket.
  • By phone on 0333 666 3366, where booking fees apply.

The Players’ site does not show ticket prices; they appear when you book. The Saturday matinee is the natural choice for younger children.

A Christmas Carol, Lewes Little Theatre

Lewes Little Theatre, on Lancaster Street, is staging Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol, directed by Susie O’Hare, from Saturday 5 to Saturday 12 December. Evening performances are at 7.30pm, with 2.30pm matinees on Saturday 5 and Saturday 12 December. Booking is open through the theatre’s website.

Before that, the theatre has Saving Grace by Phillip Ayckbourn from 10 to 17 October.

What we checked and did not find

  • Seaford: no pantomime is listed for December 2026. Seaford’s big Christmas day is Christmas Magic on Saturday 12 December.
  • Lewes town: no pantomime. The town’s Christmas evening is the Lewes lights switch-on.
  • Ringmer: Ringmer Dramatic Society has staged pantomimes at Ringmer Village Hall before, but we found no 2026 production announced.
